Dental Bridges and Crowns

Bridges and crowns can be an important treatment to give you the smile that you need to be confident.

A bridge is two or more crowns with a fake tooth in the middle. These can be used for a few different reasons, including restoring your smile and the ability to speak and chew. They also fill the space left by missing teeth, prevent other teeth from becoming misaligned, and help to maintain your facial shape.

A crown is a covering that goes over the entire surface of the tooth to make it look more natural. This will protect and strengthen the structure of the tooth.

Why would I need bridges or crowns?

Bridges or crowns can help to restore your smile by filling the space left by missing teeth. They also help you maintain your natural facial shape and return your ability to speak and chew.

Bridges

Bridges, also called “fixed dental prosthesis,” are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth.

Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth and the bite between upper and lower teeth. Different materials can be used to make a bridge depending on your needs.

Crowns

Crowns are porcelain caps that are used as a way to “cap” or cover a damaged tooth or attach a bridge. It can also be a way to improve the shape, alignment or appearance of your tooth.

Crowns are also used on implants to create the appearance and function of a real tooth. These can be created from different materials, such as porcelain ceramic which can be created to look like real teeth.
