At Brandon Dental Centre, the technology we use helps to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments more efficient. Because we can display digital x-rays and scans on the monitors in our treatment rooms, we can show you any issues in your mouth and walk you through your treatment plan.
Our goal is to provide patients with efficient dental care, and make sure they are fully informed about their oral health. Dental technology helps us do that.
Digital x-rays have replaced traditional photographic x-ray film. This digital generation of x-ray machines uses digital sensors to produce highly detailed computer images of your teeth and gums, in addition to other oral structures and conditions. This allows your dentist to examine hard-to-reach areas and parts of your mouth that are invisible to the naked eye.
Panoramic x-rays are an effective diagnostic tool and clinical adjunct. Using these x-rays, your dentist can take a single flat image of your entire mouth to help plan treatments for dentures, implants, extractions and braces. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, lower and upper jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and the sinus and nasal structures.
